IMPORTANT DAY SCHOOL NEWS
MEMORIAL DONATION.....In support and sympathy of Grade Five Teacher Ms. Amanda Hall, on the unexpected passing of her boyfriend, several parents would like to make a donation to a scholarship fund that has been established in Amanda's boyfriend's name. His family has made this request in lieu of flowers. This opportunity to donate is open to the entire Day School community. If able to contribute, please forward a cash donation in an envelope marked "Scholarship Fund" by Thursday, June 17th. All donations will be forwarded to the Norman E. Day School Office. These funds will be donated to the Justin Leo Marshall Scholarship Fund in Wakefield, MA from the Day School Fifth Grade Class. GRADE FIVE COMPLETION CEREMONY.....Grade Five families please note the Grade Five Completion Ceremony on Monday 6/21/10 at 9:30 AM in the Day School Gymnasium. All Day School Grade Five families are invited to this special event. The program will include the following: Grade Five Academic Fitness (achievement and effort) Awards, Grade Five Code of Conduct Awards (one student per grade five class), two Principal Awards, and Completion Certificates to each grade five student. A brief reception will be held in the school Dining Room with a free drink and cookie for each grade five student. We hope all Grade Five families can join us for this special event!!

SCHOOL MENU CHANGE.....Please note the following changes to the Day School menu for Monday 6/14 and Thursday 6/17. Originally the information posted for 6/14 and 6/17 identified the food choice as Manager's Choice. The actual menu will be:

RECOGNITION
SCHOOL YEARBOOK.....A special shout-out to the following parents who worked with Judi Morrison to produce a terrific 2009-2010 Day School Yearbook. Join me in thanking parents Wendy Brown, Denise Dougherty, Kate Paquin, and Patty Ragusa. Their efforts resulted in a wonderful publication that highlights every Day School student and memories of the current school year.
KARLA FERRINI.....The past three years parent Karla Ferrini has very capably coordinated the Day School Store. Karla has shopped for and purchased items for the School Store, as well as worked at the Store. This has taken an extraordinary number of hours. Karla has also been a Site-based Coordinator in our school. She has taken the initiative and coordinated many school fundraisers such as the Holiday Shop and Boston Market events, as well as attending monthly meetings. At the conclusion of this school year she is leaving the Westford Elementary PTO. We sincerely thank Karla for her tireless efforts and energy. Our school community will miss her countless contributions.
SPEECH AND DEBATE CLUB.....This past spring our school started the Speech and Debate Club. In addition to Sudha Mulpur and her son Pranav Mulpur, who initiated this excellent extended day activity, I also want to thank parent volunteers Mrs. Debbie Kinne, Mrs. Chrstyna Chasse, Mrs. Namita Singh, Mrs. Linda Farago, and Mrs. Karla Ferrini. This superb opportunity involved a total of approximately eighty Day School students in grades three, four, and five.
